Decision Making in Combined Hip Arthroscopy and Femoral Derotational Osteotomy Surgeries

چکیده

Background: Femoral version abnormalities can contribute to intra-articular hip pathology. Combined arthroscopy with femoral derotational osteotomy (FDRO) has been shown successfully treat those pathology excessive anteversion or retroversion of the femur. Indications: We describe technique for combined and FDRO in patients symptomatic setting Technique Description: Hip is performed using standard anterolateral, modified mid-anterior, distal anterolateral accessory portals. The labrum repaired a narrow diameter suture. Femoroplasty utilization fluoroscopic imaging assess resection. Dynamic flexion as final check adequacy Capsular closure all cases. After arthroscopy, patient repositioned on radiolucent table. A piriformis start point obtained guide pin followed by opening reaming ball-tipped guidewire placement. made just proximal isthmus through lateral approach Two K-wires are placed site. goniometer then used measure rotation. drill perforate cortex circumferentially at reaming, sagittal saw cut an osteotome. An intramedullary nail inserted over while rotational reduction assessed from foot operating Distal interlocking screws placed, backslapped create compression site prior placing screws. Results: Recent studies show improved outcome scores who undergo concomitant abnormal version. Discussion/Conclusion: Identifying would benefit surgeries requires thorough preoperative evaluation. Correct identification treatment these leads outcomes. Patient Consent Disclosure Statement: author(s) attests that consent any patient(s) appearing this publication. Modifications to the Hip Arthroscopy Technique When Performing Combined Hip Arthroscopy and Periacetabular Osteotomy

In the realm of hip preservation, hip arthroscopy is often used to address intra-articular impingement pathology, whereas periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) is used to address dysplasia and instability. Indications to combine these 2 procedures include hip dysplasia and symptomatic instability with a concomitant symptomatic labral tear or the other symptomatic intra-articular pathology (i.e., loose...

Long-term changes in femoral anteversion and hip rotation following femoral derotational osteotomy in children with cerebral palsy.

BACKGROUND Excessive femoral anteversion is common in cerebral palsy (CP), is often associated with internal hip rotation during gait, and is frequently treated with a femoral derotational osteotomy (FDO). Concerns exist regarding long-term maintenance of surgical outcomes. Past studies report varying rates of recurrence, but none have employed a control group. METHODS We conducted a retrospe...

Concomitant Hip Arthroscopy and Periacetabular Osteotomy.

PURPOSE To detail our early experience using concomitant hip arthroscopy and periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) for the treatment of acetabular dysplasia. METHODS We prospectively collected and retrospectively reviewed the surgical and outcome data of 17 patients who underwent concomitant hip arthroscopy and PAO between October 2010 and July 2013. Preoperative and postoperative range of motion, o...
